The classic Eighties Mr. T showcase gets a big dumb popcorn movie update. This is a good thing. The new cast is good, though Mr. T is too iconic to replace. Sharlto "District 9" Copely steals every scene he's in and Jessica Biel's hawt. Stuff gets blowed up real good, so what more do you need?
Score: 8/10. Catch a matinee.
This movie doesn't need more of a review. It's a big, dumb, entertaining popcorn movie. I thought Jackson could have dialed back the Mr. T impressions a bit and still played the character. Fun movie, though.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to clear a month's backlog of reviews in about 45 minutes, so brevity was necessary. I could've mentioned about how Liam Neeson seems to have entered a "middle-aged badass" phase of his career and ruminated on the sociological impacts of big dumb popcorn flicks, but why bother?
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading.
